Welcome to the League of Women Voters of Greater Los Angeles!

The League of Women Voters, a non-partisan political organization, encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy.

Over 100 Years of Defending Democracy

The League of Women Voters (LWV) was founded in 1920 as a force to empower participants in the American democracy and to ensure all voices have the power to advocate for the issues that matter to them.

Over a century later, our mission at the League of Women Voters of Greater LA, a local branch of the LWV, remains the same: uphold democracy by giving our community the tools they need to impact change in ways that change lives.
